The Missions Work of Good
Shepherd Community Church Dallas Texas
Since its
founding in 1974 by Nick Britton, a former missionary in the
Caribbean, our church has had a strong emphasis on overseas
missionary work. Our second pastor, Tim Easley, continued this
keen interest, and especially focused on the Indian sub-continent,
which he has visited on a number of occasions. Our third pastor
has been a missionary in Togo, West Africa, for about fourteen
years.
Our current
pastors, Jeff Gregory and Mark Bahr, continue this great
tradition. Along with Wayne Conrad, these brothers have made a
number of mission trips to India where they have taught Bible and
theology to groups of men who were either pastors or training to
be pastors. In addition, Mark worked for three years for a mission
agency in Choctaw, Oklahoma, called Heart of God.
The church sends
some financial assistance to 16 different missionaries, who serve
on four continents. Most of these missionaries have been a part of
the church in the past. Since our church is quite small, the way
we are able to do this is by using the profits from our four unit
apartment complex to fund most of our missions programs.
